Incidentally, this is the graphic I slapped together as a reference while I was writing Time. The pics have nothing to do with the story, they were just what I happened to have on hand/onscreen at the time.

The filename, incidentally, is 'forehead.jpg.' Because, well, HOMG FOREHEAD. (Sam's, I mean. Yeesh.)

I will have new fic either tomorrow or Saturday, assuming some catastrophe doesn't strike me or my computer.

Failing that, it's just under 13,000 words of me amusing myself and tormenting ickle!Sammy.

I want to write something with a happy ending.

I've been thinking about it for a while now. It's something I'd like to do at least once. Not so much as a gimmicky thing (though there's that aspect of it)--mostly I just feel like being able to construct a story with a positive ending requires a certain amount of emotional maturity ( Read more... )

Incidentally, the main reason I leave such long involved replies to comments on fics is due to the fact that, when I read a fic I really enjoy, I'll often scroll down to the comments in hopes that there will be some additional insights into what's going on in the fic. Things like characterization and plot and stuff that maybe informed the story but ( Read more... )

So in process of writing Run and Hide I wrote and trashed pages and pages of material, including about 50% of the original draft.

For anyone interested in the crazy writing process that was this fic (or why I kept bitching about issues of caricaturization), ( here is a good chunk of the material that was written and discarded: )

I was thinking that I should write some horror domestic fic. The next thing that passed through my brain immediately following that thought was, "Domestic fic is horror."

That says it all, really.

I set out to write some horror for the sharp_teeth meme, but I think I may have written existentialism instead.
